Final Project

Project idea

I wanted to create something that is useful and thought of making a mood lamp as it was pretty straightforward and easy for a begineer project.

Designing

I used Fusion 360 to design my moodlamp. For the box it was designed with finger joints as I wanted to laser cut and it's dimensions are 7cm x 7cm x 18cm.

This is how the box looks like after being assembled.

I wanted a translucent acrylic but it had already ran out. I had to use a transparent acrylic instead for my project. But after laser cutting out the box, I used translucent papers to cover up the acrylic in order for my moodlamp to have a nice effect on the outside.

Next, I 3D printed out the middle stem for my box, which is for attaching the neopixels on both sides.

I soldered the wires to the button and neopixel in order to connect to the Arduino Nano.

I managed to find a code online that works with my project and decided to implement it as it has tons of colours available for the moodlamp.

Finally, I assembled everything together, programmed and connected the Arduino.
